Chilcott and all that

It would appear that the word SORRY does not have a place in Labour rhetoric. Blair does not regret taking this country into a war built on lies. No regrets for the coffins now paraded weekly through Wootton Bassett, no remembrance of the young men, ill equiped and sent out like bomb fodder. No we do not wage war any more by sending young over the top in the trenches, but surely this is a 21st century equivalent.
Nearer to home, the Minister charged with the responsibility of 'Warm front' scheme devised to keep pensioners warm by helping them buy new boilers and central heating system, today waffled his way through an early morning interview about the sorry state of the scheme, whereby people are cold with no heating and hot water and have been for at least six weeks. Six weeks where we have seen some of the coldest conditions for years. He waffled on about heating allowance, yes it is a good thing, but you can not warm your hands on a five pound note! unless you set fire to it. Not once during the whole interview did the Minister utter the word SORRY. He was obviously warm enough as he conducted the interview in his shirt sleeves, perhaps he should invite a few pensioners to move in with him to keep warm, mind you he would probably claim the extra heating bill on his expenses!
